Nocturnal Singers is an experimental animation exploring how time is perceived and disrupted under capitalism. Using the metaphor of robins disoriented by artificial light, the film visualises chronophobia, an anxiety around the relentless passage of time. Inspired by theories of social acceleration and dysrhythmia, the piece reflects on how natural rhythms are overwritten by economic systems that measure time as a commodity. Through shifting light, repetition, and motion, Nocturnal Singers depicts the relentless cycles through an animal that cannot fully grasp it.
